Summer is in full swing

Summer is in full swing, and we are all trying to balance vacations, summer camps, work and more. Many believe that business slows down during this time of the year, but it doesn’t have to for you!

Will Smith, the actor, was asked once what was the secret to his success. He answered ” I was working while everyone else was sleeping”. Summertime is a great chance to get ahead of your competition.

The ROMG Chamber wants to help you succeed. We have launched our new member-only benefit, Masterminds. We have re-launched our monthly Lunch & Learn networking events as well as  expanded our Young Professionals networking opportunities. We have offered a special women-in-business educational program as well as technology education series. We are here for you. Now it’s your turn to take advantage of all of these exclusive ROMG Chamber benefits.

We have two events this week! Register now and come on out and learn while meeting new people. Don’t let the summer business myth of inactivity slow you down.

Not a member yet? Ready to join the ROMG Chamber now? Contact us today and we can help, or visit this link to signup now!

What would you do for your business or career if money was not a concern? If you had all of the funding that you needed, would you hire, advertise more, create a subsidiary or something else?

There is a saying ” act as-if”. What that suggests is to visualize that the obstacles which are holding you back are gone. You have resources, money, time, and the team to make your dream happen.

Once you can visualize that and feel the relief, you can then go take action. You can make the business development calls, create time to strategize, take training classes and more happen,

One action that you can take is to get involved with us. Volunteer on a committee and attend our events (the annual crab feast is almost here!), Send your news or upcoming events to us so we can help you to promote. Connect with us, and you will then take a step toward taking action.

We all hope that you are having a great summer and are enjoying the concert series in Owings Mills and Reisterstown- we are! Hope to see you soon!

Remember- Act As-If!

Change is how we grow

Change can be scary. We are all creatures of habit and when our lives change, it can be uncomfortable. However, being uncomfortable may not be negative.

To lose weight, we change our eating and activities habits. It may be “uncomfortable’ for a period of time, but the results that come from this change are worth it. You may feel  healthier and more vibrant.

We all should audit ourselves as well as our businesses from time to time to determine if there are any changes that could give us better results. We are halfway through the year, and this is a great time to step back and look for something that you would like to change.

The ROMG Chamber is leading by example. We have looked at ourselves and are making some exciting changes. We have added a new member-only benefit, Masterminds. We have re-launched our Lunch & Learn networking lunches each month (however, we are taking a vacation during the summer- Meetings will resume in September). We are getting more involved with our communities citizens while giving out free temporary tattoos at the concert events in Owings Mills and Reisterstown as well as offering a new membership for citizens to become involved with us.

Take some time and list what changes you have made in your personal or business life. Then, decide on how you want to finish 2017. Think about a few changes that you can make, then go for it!

Let us know what you want to change by posting on our Facebook Page – then give us updates as you move toward your success. While you visit our Facebook Page- please give us a review there as well!

Don’t forget to visit our directory!

Happy 4th Of July

We wish you all a safe and fun 4th of July. The 4th is the day that we celebrate our independence. We thought for fun we would dig up a few interesting facts about this holiday.
Here you go:
1. Author Kenneth C. Davis has revealed that the 2nd of July may actually be the more appropriate date to mark the nation’s special day. “The fact is that John Adams wrote home to Abigail on the 3rd that this day, July 2nd will go down in history,”

2. In a bizarre twist of fate, both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams died on July 4, 1826.

3. Americans began observing the Fourth of July as early as 1777, when the first-ever major celebration in Philadelphia included a parade, a thirteen-shot cannon salute and fireworks, but Congress didn’t make it official until 1870, when it was part of a bill passed to recognize major state holidays at a federal level

4. Due to concerns about cracking the iconic instrument, the Liberty Bell has not been rung since 1846. Instead, every year, to mark the Fourth of July, the 2,000-pound bell is tapped 13 times to signal for bells across the country to start ringing.
